Dueling Duets
For this project, all students will be using the same piece and creating their own unique arrangements. The piece I have chosen for this project is titled "Dona Nobis Pachem" which in Latin gets translated to "Bring/Grant Us Peace." You can find the music here:

Here is another site with the music and a short lesson you can follow to help you. I really don't care if you follow this lesson or not. Some of you may find that going through it, might help you but some of you might think that the exercise is pointless. At the very least, everyone should read it (it is not long).

Since you have been given music for this project, you should spend most of your time trying to figure out how to create your own unique arrangement. Here is what you will need to do to complete this project...
1) Mr. Masaki has assigned you partners for this project. Meet with your partner and prepare yourselves for this project.
2) Look at the sheet music. Go to the third link on the page and read the lesson about the sheet music so you can get an idea of how it works.
3) Watch the two videos below and go online and listen to at least 2 more different arrangements of the song. Be aware that there is a Ralph Vaughn Williams version of this piece that you do NOT want to listen to. It is a great piece but it will not help you with this project. (I would advise you to search for the following: Dona Nobis Pachem Duet Traditional. This seemed to get some good results for me.)

4) Discuss with your partner what you liked and didn't like about the different versions. Talk about how you might be able to do something different/better in your own arrangement.
5) Once you have a good idea of what you want in your piece, you can start planning your project.
6) Rehearse your project and then time it.
7) Record your project in Acapella. There is no time minimum for this project
